 Captain Bob Cosby is a Jacksonville, Florida native and has been saltwater fishing the inshore and nearshore waters of Northeast Florida since he was a child. He is a retired USCGR Captain, and has a 50-ton Master's license.
When you book a charter with Captain Bob Cosby as your guide, you will be fishing the inshore and/or coastal waters of Jacksonville, Jacksonville Beach, Ponte Vedra and St. Augustine, Florida from a 21-ft Fishmaster bay boat or a 16-ft Riverhawk flats boat.
The Northeast Florida area offers first class saltwater fishing year-round, and Captain Bob has guide experience offering charters with bait ,lure, and fly-fishing, for all types of fish in the area. Depending on the time of year and your preference, you may be fly-fishing inshore on the grass flats for tailing redfish and sheepshead; throwing top water lures or bait inshore for trout, flounder, sheepshead or redfish; fly-fishing offshore for Spanish mackerel, tarpon or jacks; or fishing in the ocean with live bait for tarpon, cobia, sharks, sheepshead, redfish, trout, whiting, flounder or drum. You may even want to try to surf fish on Jacksonville Beach, Ponte Vedra Beach or St. Augustine, Florida for whiting, redfish, bluefish, trout, flounder or drum!
Captain Bob will provide all fishing (including fly-fishing) tackle, bait, lures, flies, ice and licenses for the charter, though customers are welcome to use their own gear to fish. He will make every effort to customize each charter to meet customers’ needs. Anglers of all skill levels and children are welcome to fish.
Frequently caught fish include: redfish, speckled trout, weakfish, flounder, sheepshead, whiting, black drum, bluefish, Spanish mackerel, jacks, sharks, and tarpon and cobia in season.
